Abbottabad

Abbottabad is named after Major James Abbott. He was the first Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Hazara District. Abbottabad is a very beautiful district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KpK) province of Pakistan. The total area of Abbottabad district is about 1,970 km. The neighbouring district of Abbottabad are Mansehra to the north, Muzaffarabad to the east, Haripur to the west and Rawalpindi and Islamabad the capital of Pakistan to the south.

In the 20th Century, Abbottabad became a military cantonment.

Abbottabad has a very pleasant climate with mild warm temperatures during spring and autumn and hot  the temperature during the month of June and July and cool temperatures during the winter season. The temperature can rise as high as 37 to 38 degree Celsius during the summer month and drop below from -4 to -6 degree Celsius during the extreme cold season.

Abbottabad is the tourist-attracting point from the colonial time. Abbottabad is the major transit point to all famous tourist sites of Pakistan such as Natiagali, Ayubia and Naran.
